As I have explained in a couple articles, my top two picks for Brazil are BuzzRoc and ZoroRoc. Plenty of detail has been given about Fighting Zoroark variants on Cut or Tap, but I have not given BuzzRoc as much attention as I would like. This piece explains BuzzRoc’s matchups, my list, and what can be changed about the list.
For the non-Stage 2 subs, this is a great skeleton list:
Pokémon – 13 | Trainers – 27 | Energy – 13 | |||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
3 | Buzzwole GX | 4 | Guzma | 4 | Ultra Ball | 4 | Strong | ||
1 | Rockruff (Tackle) | 2 | Cynthia | 4 | Max Elixir | 9* | Fighting | ||
1 | Rockruff (Corner) | 2 | N | 3 | Float Stone | ||||
2 | Lycanroc GX | 3 | Professor Sycamore | 3 | Choice Band | ||||
1 | Tapu Lele GX | ||||||||
2 | Remoraid | 2** | Brooklet Hill | ||||||
2 | Octillery | ||||||||
1 | Regirock EX | ||||||||
* You can play either 1 Super Rod or a 10th Fighting Energy, but you cannot cut both.
** Some lists play a split between Brooklet and Parallel City, however you do not want to have only 2 Brooklet with no other Stadiums.
As for the Supporters in the list, I believe you cannot play less than two Cynthia in the deck, but others certainly disagree. Never cut down to less than seven draw supporters in the list, but you probably should not go above 10 at the very most for draw supporters. Buzzwole decks are more equipped to not have a draw supporter than probably any other deck in the format. But just because that is true does not mean you shouldn’t make it hard for Buzzwole to dead draw. Here’s the list that I have been working on for weeks:
