“Dodge, Duck, Dipplin, Dive and Dodge:” a Dipplin/Thwackey Guide

NAIC is upon us, Subs! While writing this, we are currently one week away from the big dance, and I couldn’t be more excited to compete. This is the largest tournament of all time, so we’ll be sure to see some amazing decks and players rise to the top. I’ve now been testing this format for close to two months, so once again I feel like I have a great advantage similar to my preparation for EUIC, which was early as well.

A deck that most have not made too much of an effort or even made noise about, is the new Festival Lead engine. Today we’ll go over my thoughts on the cards included and where my deck list has landed me. Dipplin is one of my top picks going into NAIC, so don’t count this as a “New Deck Profile” but more as a consideration. I’ve been very successful in the past at NAIC with single-prize decks, and in fact one of my best finishes in my Pokemon career was with a completely unheard-of Stunfisk/Spiritomb deck. I won’t, however, be endorsing this Dipplin deck the same way as Stunfisk, but I do believe its matchup spread and consistency are magnificent.

Let’s hop right into it and talk about what the engine looks like.
