After its strong performance at the Gdansk Regional Championships, Banette has proved to be a top contender in the current meta. With the Gardevoir engine being able to trade favorably into two-prize decks like Raging Bolt, and the Item lock to slow down aggressive Dusknoir decks like Palkia and Terapagos, Banette has a very solid matchup spread, which is compounded by its consistency.

After my Top 64 run at Louisville with the deck, I’ve received a ton of questions about it. While I’m not as experienced as Mateusz, the creator, I’m very confident in my ability to play the deck, and I hope this article will help you grasp this intricate deck a bit better, and see how it adapts to Surging Sparks.
