“Two Shots”: Dragapult ex Expose

What’s good, Cut or Tap Subs! Hunter here again to give you my final piece for the 2024 World Championships being held in Honolulu, Hawaii. We are one week away from the most prestigious tournament of the year, and I couldn’t be more excited. This time, we’ll be going over two different approaches to the Dragapult ex deck which is quite versatile at the moment.

Dragapult ex has been overhyped and underhyped all in the last few months since its release pre-NAIC. The TCG giants Tord Reklev and Micheal Pramawat both had decided to bring Dragapult variants to NAIC, shocking myself and other top players alike. I wondered why these two were set on a deck that I felt was slightly too slow, too inconsistent, and not the right engine. Wrongly assumed by me, as Tord was able to clench an 18th place finish with his variant, followed by Pramawat’s 38th place finish with his own. Both of these incredible players took very different approaches to this archetype, which leaves some room open to interpretation as to which is better.

In this piece, I’ll go over the major differences between Tord’s and Michael’s lists, and how they play. Then we will go into the two ways I see Dragapult having success at the upcoming World Championship. Lastly, we’ll discuss Dragapult’s place in the meta, and how it interacts with the other decks.

Without further ado, lets jump into analyzing Tord Reklev’s NAIC Charizard ex/Dragapult ex deck!
